Name: Thandiwe Mblangwe
Designation: Senior Field Technician
Company: Business Connexion: CEB Maintenance
What do you do every day? I support Woolworths stores on desktops, tills, servers and printers on software and hardware.
How did you get into the tech space? I got into the field after I spoke to a friend that was doing it yet didn’t enjoy it. I approached her manager, then when she resigned he gave me a chance and I’m forever grateful to him.
What is the best advice anyone gave you? Never be afraid to ask for help if you don’t know.
What advice would you given someone wanting to get into the tech sector? I would advise them to have an open mind and be a people person because users can make your life easy when you are friendly.
What motivates you to get out of bed everyday? My kids motivate me to do more for their future.
Who do you want to be when you grow up? I don’t know any other ladies in the field who I can say I look up to so I usually motivate other ladies to join me. I am tired of being alone in meetings with guys. Even the uniform is manly.
